Plan your trip
When should you come?
Clear skies, peak events, most tours operating.
The dry season brings reliable sunshine, warm days and cool nights. Most roads and tours are accessible, and the Kimberley is at its most visited. Book accommodation and tours well ahead for July and August. Check current road conditions before heading off the main highways.
Dramatic skies, waterfalls at their peak, some roads close.
The landscape transforms — waterfalls thunder, gorges fill, and the light is extraordinary. Many remote roads close and some tours don't operate, but the experience is raw and unforgettable for those who come prepared.
